Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision and patient comfort
- Process and analyze specimens using advanced laboratory equipment
- Maintain sterile environments and strict compliance with OSHA/JCAHO protocols
- Train and mentor junior phlebotomy staff on best practices
- Manage inventory and quality control for laboratory supplies
- Document patient information and test results with 100% accuracy
- Collaborate with physicians and lab specialists for specialized testing
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent credential required
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience in high-volume settings
- Expertise in pediatric, geriatric, and difficult venipuncture access
- BLS/CPR certification and knowledge of HIPAA/GDPR compliance
- Proven ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations
- Associate's degree in Medical Technology preferred
- Experience with LIS/HIS systems and electronic documentation
- Exceptional communication skills for diverse patient populations
