Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal discomfort
- Process and handle specimens according to CLIA and HIPAA standards
- Operate advanced laboratory equipment including automated analyzers
- Train and mentor junior phlebotomy staff on best practices
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and specimen tracking systems
- Implement infection control protocols in compliance with OSHA guidelines
- Collaborate with physicians and lab technologists for diagnostic accuracy
Qualifications
- Current Arizona Phlebotomy Technician certification (PTC)
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification with current renewal
- Proven expertise in pediatric and geriatric blood collection
- Familiarity with LIS systems (Epic, Cerner preferred)
- Exceptional patient communication and comfort skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Background check and drug screen clearance
