Responsibilities
- Perform complex venipuncture, capillary draws, and specialized specimen collection
- Train and mentor junior phlebotomy staff on advanced techniques
- Ensure strict compliance with OSHA, CLIA, and CAP regulations
- Operate and maintain advanced laboratory equipment (e.g., automated analyzers)
- Manage patient flow and specimen processing in high-volume settings
- Collaborate with laboratory and clinical teams for seamless patient care
- Maintain detailed electronic health records and inventory logs
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification required
- Minimum 3 years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification and HIPAA compliance training
- Proven expertise in difficult vein access and pediatric collections
- Strong knowledge of laboratory safety protocols and specimen handling
- Experience with LIS/HIS systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
