Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive phone and video triage assessments for a high volume of patients to determine the acuity of their medical needs.
- Apply critical thinking to differentiate between urgent, emergent, and non-emergent situations, ensuring timely referrals to appropriate providers.
- Document all patient interactions, assessments, and care plans accurately in the electronic health record (EHR) system in real-time.
- Counsel patients on self-care management, medication instructions, and preventative health measures to improve outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare team members to ensure seamless continuity of care.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations, clinical protocols, and hospital infection control standards.
Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts (MA).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate degree (ADN) accepted with significant experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in emergency room, critical care, or telehealth nursing.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
- Strong proficiency with electronic health record systems (EHR) and telemedicine platforms.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to de-escalate patient anxiety.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of patient safety and satisfaction.
