Responsibilities
- Conduct rapid patient assessments using ESI (Emergency Severity Index) protocols
- Make critical decisions on patient disposition and priority levels
- Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and ancillary staff
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) documentation
- Provide phone triage for remote patients using telehealth platforms
- Train and mentor junior nursing staff on triage protocols
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current Nebraska RN license with unrestricted status
- Minimum 3 years emergency department or urgent care experience
- BSN or higher degree (MSN preferred)
- ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
- Strong knowledge of ESI and triage protocols
- Exceptional critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Experience with Epic EHR system preferred
- Excellent communication and de-escalation abilities
