Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense medications under pharmacist supervision with 100% accuracy
- Manage pharmaceutical inventory, ordering, and stock rotation protocols
- Process insurance claims and maintain electronic health records efficiently
- Counsel patients on medication usage and answer basic pharmaceutical inquiries
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and pharmacy board regulations strictly
- Operate automated dispensing systems and pharmacy management software
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy
Qualifications
- Active Pharmacy Technician certification (PTB/ExCPT) required
- Minimum 1 year retail/hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of prescription medications and pharmaceutical terminology
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in compounding/dispensing
- Valid Louisiana pharmacy technician license in good standing
- Proficient in pharmacy software (e.g., QS1, Rx30) and inventory systems
- Exceptional communication skills and customer service demeanor
