Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments with 100% accuracy
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments per OSHA and AORN standards
- Operate robotic surgical systems (da Vinci) and power equipment
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after procedures
- Coordinate with anesthesia and circulating nurses for seamless care
- Manage equipment sterilization and maintenance protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- 2+ years of OR experience in general surgery
- BLS certification with current CPR training
- Knowledge of sterile processing and instrument care
- Ability to work in high-pressure emergency situations
- Experience with minimally invasive surgical techniques preferred
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Flexibility to cover weekend/evening shifts as needed
