Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by arranging sterile instruments and equipment.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and materials, and holding retractors.
- Monitor and maintain aseptic conditions during surgical procedures.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure nothing is left in the surgical wound.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including skin preparation and draping.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room and recovery areas.
- Sanitize operating rooms and equipment after procedures.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to lift and move patients and equipment as necessary.
