Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by sterilizing equipment and arranging instruments, supplies, and equipment.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and materials, and holding retractors.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain accurate records.
- Maintain sterile field and aseptic technique throughout surgical procedures.
- Monitor the patient’s vital signs and provide updates to the surgical team.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room with proper safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Operating Room Technician (COR) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a surgical setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, sterilization techniques, and aseptic practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift patients as needed.
