Responsibilities
- Assist Surgeons: Provide skilled assistance to physicians and nurses during surgical procedures.
- Preparation: Ensure operating rooms are properly sterilized and equipped with necessary instruments and supplies.
- Intraoperative Support: Pass instruments and sterile items to the surgeon with precision and speed.
- Field Maintenance: Maintain a sterile field and adhere strictly to aseptic techniques at all times.
- Inventory Control: Monitor and manage the sterilization and inventory of surgical instruments.
- Patient Safety: Position patients appropriately, apply drapes, and assist with wound closure as directed.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in an acute care or ambulatory surgery setting preferred.
- Licensure: Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on teamwork.
- Attention to Detail: High level of precision in handling sterile equipment and procedures.
- Flexibility: Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
