Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging sterile instruments, drapes, and equipment.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Monitor patient vital signs and maintain sterile field throughout the operation.
- Position patients correctly on the operating table and prepare incision sites.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain a sterile environment.
- Handle and dispose of surgical specimens and waste according to protocols.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure patient safety.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of aseptic technique and surgical procedures.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work well under high-pressure situations.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
