Responsibilities
- Assist Surgeons: Provide assistance to surgeons during procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring a smooth surgical workflow.
- Preparation: Prepare operating rooms and sterilize medical instruments and equipment before and after surgeries.
- Patient Care: Monitor patients' vital signs and ensure their comfort and safety throughout the surgical process.
- Instrument Management: Pass instruments and sponges to the surgeon during operations and maintain accurate counts.
- Sterile Field Maintenance: Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to strict aseptic techniques at all times.
- Documentation: Accurately complete surgical records, logs, and supply inventories.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Scrub Tech certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; graduation from an accredited surgical technology program is a plus.
- Licensure: Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy equipment is essential.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional organizational skills and ability to follow strict protocols.
