Responsibilities
- Preparation: Set up operating rooms with all necessary instruments, equipment, and supplies prior to surgery, ensuring compliance with sterility standards.
- Assistance: Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, retracting tissues, and maintaining a sterile field.
- Monitoring: Monitor the patient's vital signs and report any significant changes or complications to the surgical team immediately.
- Specimen Handling: Prepare and handle tissue specimens accurately for laboratory analysis according to established protocols.
- Organization: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized environment in the operating room at all times.
- Communication: Collaborate effectively with nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program and holds current CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification.
- Licensure: Valid Florida State Surgical Technologist license.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center setting.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and aseptic technique.
- Equipment Proficiency: Ability to operate complex surgical equipment and robotic systems.
- Behavioral: High attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
