Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by arranging sterile instruments and equipment.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sutures.
- Monitor patient vitals and ensure patient safety throughout the procedure.
- Control bleeding and suction surgical sites as directed.
- Change dressings and close incisions after surgery.
- Maintain a sterile environment and sterilize medical equipment.
- Document patient information and surgical procedures accurately.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or completion of an accredited surgical tech program.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and weekends.
