Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor patient vital signs and surgical equipment functionality
- Document procedural details and maintain accurate inventory records
- Adhere to strict OSHA and Joint Commission standards
- Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams
- Train on new surgical technologies and techniques
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care OR experience
- BLS/CPR certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing protocols
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR)
- Flexibility to work weekends and on-call shifts
