Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms with sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count and account for all surgical instruments and supplies before/after procedures
- Transport patients and specimens between departments
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and order as needed
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and OSHA standards
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Accredited Surgical Technology program graduate or equivalent military training
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience preferred
- BLS certification required (ACLS preferred)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in high-stress environments
- Alaska residency or willingness to relocate
