Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by arranging sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and other sterile supplies.
- Monitor and maintain sterile field throughout surgical procedures.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure nothing is left in the patient.
- Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and positioning them appropriately.
- Transfer patients to recovery areas and observe their vital signs.
- Document surgical interventions accurately as per hospital protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery (CST) credential.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a surgical setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and sterilization procedures.
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks with precision.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
