Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical equipment in compliance with OSHA and AORN standards
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain accurate counts of surgical sponges, needles, and instruments
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of surgical instruments
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Document surgical procedures accurately and maintain sterile environments
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent scrub experience in general surgery
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical equipment
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- NY State Surgical Technology license preferred
