Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and arrange surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor patient vital signs and sterile techniques throughout operations
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/during/after procedures
- Manage surgical equipment sterilization and inventory control
- Collaborate with RNs and anesthesia teams for seamless patient care
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
- Minimum 1 year recent OR experience in general surgery
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards and infection control protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure surgical environments
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Background check and drug screen required
