Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and enforce aseptic techniques throughout surgeries
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures
- Prepare patients for surgery by positioning and draping
- Handle and dispose of biohazard materials according to OSHA standards
- Document procedural details in electronic health records
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Minimum 1 year of recent surgical tech experience
- Knowledge of sterile processing procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work various surgical specialties
