Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterile fields, and surgical instruments for procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile technique
- Perform sterilization processing and inventory management of surgical supplies
- Document all perioperative activities accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure seamless patient care
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, AORN, and facility safety protocols
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential required
- 1+ years of recent OR experience in a Level 1 trauma center preferred
- BLS/CPR certification with current expiration date
- Proficiency in sterile processing and surgical equipment handling
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and surgical procedures
- Excellent communication skills and teamwork abilities
