Role Overview:
As a Surgical Tech, you will be an essential part of the operating room team. You will prepare operating rooms, arrange equipment, and assist surgeons during procedures. Your attention to detail and commitment to patient safety are vital to our mission.
Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by setting up sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and materials, and maintaining a sterile field.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure safety and prevent retention.
- Monitor and prepare patients for surgery, including sterilizing incision sites and applying drapes.
- Ensure the operating room environment remains clean, organized, and adheres to strict sterilization protocols.
- Transport patients to and from the operating suite with care and assistance.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, procedures, and sterilization techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
