Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Monitor inventory of surgical supplies and manage restocking protocols
- Transport patients and specimens between operating rooms and recovery areas
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Maintain compliance with OSHA and sterile processing standards
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year of operating room experience preferred
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterilization techniques
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Strong understanding of sterile processing protocols and safety standards
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
