Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging sterile equipment and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and sponges.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure sterility and prevent retention.
- Transport patients to and from the operating suite using a sterile bed.
- Monitor patients' vital signs during surgery and alert the anesthesiologist if necessary.
- Change dressings and clean incision sites post-operation.
- Maintain a sterile field and adhere to strict infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a high-pressure team environment.
- Basic computer literacy (EMR experience preferred but not required).
- Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screening.
- Valid driver's license (for transport duties).
