Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields with precision
- Operate advanced surgical equipment including robotic systems and endoscopic devices
- Assist surgeons during procedures with instrument passing and hemostasis control
- Implement strict sterilization protocols for all reusable instruments
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
- 2+ years of experience in general surgery specialties
- Proficiency with robotic surgical systems (da Vinci preferred)
- Knowledge of advanced sterilization techniques (ETO, hydrogen peroxide)
- BLS/CPR certification with current renewal
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced trauma cases
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills
