Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery, including sterilizing equipment and arranging instruments.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain accurate records before and after procedures.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and materials, and holding retractors.
- Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing incision sites.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any abnormalities to the nursing staff.
- Ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques and hospital protocols.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center setting preferred.
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and sterilization procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
