Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures by passing instruments and supplies.
- Prepare operating rooms, ensuring all equipment and sterilization protocols are met.
- Maintain a sterile field and strictly adhere to aseptic technique standards.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgery to ensure patient safety.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room and position them appropriately.
- Document patient information and surgical procedures accurately in medical records.
- Respond to emergency situations within the operating room as directed by the charge nurse.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certifications are required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgery center setting.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and sterilization procedures.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation.
