Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterilize instruments and equipment prior to surgery.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and holding retractors.
- Monitor patient vitals and maintain a sterile field throughout operations.
- Properly label and handle tissue specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Ensure the operating room is organized, clean, and fully stocked at all times.
- Communicate effectively with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and protocol compliance.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technician (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) required.
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or ambulatory surgical center setting.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work well under high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
