Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by arranging instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sterile supplies efficiently.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain a sterile environment and ensure patient safety.
- Transport patients to and from the operating suite under the supervision of registered nurses.
- Monitor and maintain sterile field throughout surgical procedures.
- Ensure all surgical equipment is functioning correctly and properly sterilized.
- Document patient medical history and vital signs accurately.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Basic understanding of medical terminology and anatomy is a plus (but not mandatory).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients or equipment as needed.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to teamwork.
