Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile fields before surgical procedures
- Pass instruments and supplies to surgical team during operations
- Maintain sterile environments and sterilize equipment
- Assist in patient positioning and draping
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after surgery
- Document procedural supplies and equipment usage
- Adhere to OSHA and AORN safety standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours)
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Willingness to complete paid training program (12 weeks)
- Basic computer literacy for documentation
- Valid CPR certification (provided during training)
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights/weekends
