Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and arrange surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques
- Handle specimens for laboratory analysis and process surgical equipment
- Document procedures accurately and maintain inventory of surgical supplies
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure optimal workflow efficiency
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year recent experience in general surgery
- Current BLS certification
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards and OSHA regulations
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure surgical environments
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends
