Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical equipment in compliance with OSHA standards
- Assist surgeons during procedures with instrument passing and wound closure
- Manage inventory and sterilization of surgical instruments (remote-friendly inventory tracking)
- Document surgical cases in EHR systems with remote accessibility
- Maintain sterile environments in operating rooms and recovery areas
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for seamless patient care
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives (some virtual meetings)
- Train on new surgical technologies via remote modules
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- 2+ years of OR experience in acute care setting
- Proficiency in sterile processing and aseptic techniques
- Strong EHR documentation skills with remote access capability
- BLS/CPR certification maintained
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods
