Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operations
- Prepare patients for surgery by positioning them and applying drapes
- Handle and sterilize surgical equipment using autoclaves and sterilization machines
- Document procedural activities in patient records
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and restock as needed
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of operating room experience
- Completion of accredited Surgical Technology program
- Knowledge of sterile processing protocols
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
