Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and setting up sterile fields according to protocol
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce aseptic techniques throughout surgical cases
- Count and document all surgical instruments, sponges, and needles before and after procedures
- Transport patients to and from operating rooms while monitoring vital signs
- Operate surgical equipment including endoscopic cameras, robotic systems, and sterilizers
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Accredited Surgical Technology program graduate or equivalent military training
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent hospital OR experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing and sterilization techniques
- Current BLS certification from AHA
- Ability to work in fast-paced emergency situations
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
