Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and setting up sterile fields
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce infection control protocols
- Count surgical instruments and supplies before and after procedures
- Prepare patients for surgery and position them appropriately
- Handle and dispose of biohazardous materials safely
- Collaborate with surgical team to ensure efficient workflow
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience preferred
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrumentation
- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
