Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons and nursing staff during procedures, anticipating their needs for instruments and supplies.
- Maintain strict sterile techniques to ensure a safe surgical environment.
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging sterile equipment and drapes.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after procedures to ensure zero loss.
- Position patients on the operating table and adjust drapes for optimal visibility.
- Handle specimens correctly and transport patients to recovery areas.
- Document patient data accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR).
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential required.
- Active California State License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a hospital or surgical center setting.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
