Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment prior to procedures.
- Assist surgeons and nurses during operations by passing instruments and supplies.
- Ensure all surgical equipment functions correctly and remains sterile.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and maintain accurate patient records.
- Position patients on the operating table and adjust surgical drapes to create a sterile field.
- Handle specimens for pathology and transport them to the lab.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with surgical experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to sterile techniques.
- High school diploma or GED required.
