Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms and sterile instruments and supplies for surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and materials, and holding retractors.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the surgical team immediately.
- Maintain aseptic technique and strict adherence to sterilization protocols throughout procedures.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after operations to ensure zero loss.
- Arrange and organize instruments and supplies, ensuring a sterile field for the surgical team.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room with extreme care and attention to safety.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, instruments, and procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on patient safety and hygiene.
