Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by setting up sterile fields, instruments, and equipment
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Manage surgical supplies and inventory, ensuring optimal availability
- Apply sterilization techniques per CDC and AORN standards
- Document procedural details accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for coordinated patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience in a Level 1 trauma center
- Proficiency in orthopedic, general surgery, and neurosurgical procedures
- BLS/CPR certification and surgical instrument mastery
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends and on-call rotations
- Strong attention to detail and crisis management skills
