Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for procedures by arranging sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and other sterile supplies.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique to prevent infection in the operating room.
- Monitor the operating room environment and anticipate the surgeon's needs.
- Handle specimens accurately and transport them to the laboratory.
- Document patient information and surgical procedures accurately.
- Ensure the safety and comfort of patients before, during, and after surgery.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Technician (CST) required.
- Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical center setting preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy equipment.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and sterilization techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
