Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly and sterilized.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Maintain a sterile field and ensure strict adherence to aseptic techniques.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to maintain accurate documentation.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including draping and marking incision sites.
- Handle specimens and transport patients safely to and from the operating room.
- Monitor the operating room environment to ensure patient safety and team efficiency.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) certification required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights.
