Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile fields and monitor patient vital signs
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before and after surgeries
- Transport patients and specimens to/from surgical suites
- Document procedural details accurately in medical records
- Adhere to strict OSHA and infection control protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- No prior surgical tech experience necessary
- Certification (CST) preferred but not required (we provide training)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Valid Texas driver's license preferred
