Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count surgical supplies and equipment before/after procedures
- Ensure proper handling and disposal of biohazardous materials
- Coordinate with anesthesia and nursing teams for optimal patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation of surgical procedures
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) required
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification mandatory
- Knowledge of sterile processing standards (AAMI/AST)
- Ability to stand for extended periods in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Texas surgical tech license in good standing
