Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging sterile instruments and equipment.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
- Ensure the operating room environment remains sterile and organized throughout procedures.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any abnormalities to the charge nurse.
- Handle and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment according to hospital protocols.
- Transport patients to and from the operating room safely.
- Document patient information and surgical procedures accurately in medical records.
Qualifications
- Current Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical procedures.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift patients.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital setting preferred.
