Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging equipment and supplies.
- Assist surgical team during procedures by passing instruments and other sterile supplies.
- Maintain sterile field and strict adherence to aseptic technique.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure the correct count is maintained before and after surgery.
- Ensure patient safety by correctly identifying patients and verifying surgical site.
- Handle specimens accurately and deliver them to the lab.
- Clean and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment after use.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) required.
- Graduate from an accredited surgical technology program.
- Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
