Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments according to OSHA and AORN standards
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Manage surgical equipment sterilization and inventory control
- Document perioperative procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain sterile fields during complex surgical interventions
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience preferred
- BLS certification with current CPR training
- Knowledge of sterile processing and instrumentation
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends
- Commitment to patient safety and infection control protocols
