Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, sterilize equipment, and arrange surgical instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies
- Maintain sterile environments and enforce infection control protocols
- Handle specimens and medical waste according to regulatory standards
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing teams for seamless patient care
- Document procedural activities accurately and maintain inventory records
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for surgical efficiency
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification
- Minimum 1 year recent operating room experience
- Knowledge of sterile processing and surgical instrument care
- BLS certification required, ACLS preferred
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure emergency situations
- Strong attention to detail and exceptional hand-eye coordination
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
- Pass background check and drug screening
