Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and maintaining sterile environments
- Count and manage surgical supplies/equipment pre/post-procedure
- Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of surgical equipment
- Document all procedural activities accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with anesthesia and nursing staff for seamless patient care
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required
- Minimum 1 year recent OR experience in hospital setting
- BLS/CPR certification with current expiration date
- Knowledge of sterile processing and OSHA protocols
- Ability to adapt quickly to high-pressure surgical environments
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
- Flexibility for 8-12 hour shifts with on-call availability
