Responsibilities
- Prepare sterile fields and surgical instruments for complex procedures
- Assist surgeons during operations with instrument passing and hemostasis
- Maintain strict aseptic protocols in all surgical environments
- Manage inventory and sterilization of equipment per OSHA standards
- Coordinate patient transport and room turnover between cases
- Document surgical events accurately in electronic health records
- Mentor junior techs during high-volume surgical days
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required
- Minimum 2 years recent OR experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification mandatory
- Expertise in endoscopic and orthopedic instrumentation
- Ability to adapt quickly in emergency situations
- Strong knowledge of sterile processing protocols
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and stamina
