Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by arranging instruments, equipment, and supplies, ensuring sterility.
- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, anticipating their needs for instruments and materials.
- Maintain a sterile field throughout the procedure by monitoring the environment and patient.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure nothing is retained in the patient.
- Transport patients to and from the operating suite safely.
- Handle and prepare surgical specimens for laboratory analysis.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certification from a nationally accredited program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical anatomy and aseptic technique.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
